The Rattan Creek Neighborhood Association offers one scholarship of $500 to a high school senior from a family that lives in RCNA Service Area and are currently paying dues members of the RCNA. Along with the membership requirement, the RCNA requires the following of scholarship applicants

  • A completed application form
  • Academic achievement
  • Community Service and/or Public Service (minimum of 8 hours required, with a minimum of 4 hours with the RCNA). Contact the RCNA board if hours are needed!
  • A 2-3 page written or <5 minute audio and/or visual essay discussing “What community service means to you”.

If you are in need of community service hours with the RCNA, we can use volunteers at all our events. Simply send an email to president@rattancreek.org with the subject line “Volunteer For Scholarship” and we will make sure you get the hours you need in order to qualify for the RCNA scholarship. The major events where volunteers are needed are the Annual RCNA Easter Egg Hunt, the Annual RCNA Crawfish Boil, and our Annual Rattan Fest. So get in touch and we’ll make sure to make full use of our volunteering teens.

We are not responsible for any mail lost, delayed or not received. The Scholarship applicants will be notified via phone after the regularly scheduled RCNA board meeting in July following the June 30 deadline. And finalists should be prepared to answer questions in an interview format with the RCNA Board, if requested.

Please note, by applying for this scholarship you are giving your permission to the RCNA to use your name and a picture when available in our email, on our website, on any social media pages we have, in any printed materials we may put out, and in any other materials that may be printed, published, created, designed, and / or distributed by the RCNA. If that is a problem please do not apply.

Please note- due to low interest over the past few years, we will be evaluating the viability of these scholarships going forward after this year.
