What is it?
Every year the RCNA organizes caroling in the park and the MUD is nice enough to coordinate a Holiday Open House in the Rattan Creek Grand Pavilion where light refreshments with a holiday theme are provided. And of course we make sure Santa puts in an appearance for the kiddos! In some past years we’ve even had a bonfire (or maybe a fire in a fire pit) to sing around, although some years we have had to relocate the caroling to the community center due to weather. The RCNA provides song books and the atmosphere. You provide your beautiful (or otherwise) singing voices, and a camera if you want pictures of little ones with Santa or just want to capture this momentous occasion!
We’ll start with Santa and snacks roughly around 6pm, maybe a little earlier and maybe a little later, and then once Santa has finished his duties with the little ones, everyone gathers around a bonfire (weather permitting) to sing Christmas Carols! Again, we don’t start the caroling until after dark, so make sure to bring a flashlight so you can read the songs out of the caroling books!
We hope you join us for this annual event, which provides a wonderful way to put yourself in the holiday spirit and participate in the holiday season with your neighbors!
What to bring
It is a good idea to bring along a flashlight so that you can read the song book. Also make sure to dress appropriately, it can cool off pretty quickly after dark in December – even in central Texas.
