About the Little Free Libraries

Several of our neighbors around the neighborhood have set up “Little Free Libraries”. The way the little free libraries work is that you are free to take a book, or books, and this book lending is all on the honor system. You are also free to leave a book, or books, when you take your books. Think of it is a book swap. Are you required to leave a book? No. Are you required to return the same book you borrowed. Well, no actually no, not really. But you’ll of course return the book right? And once you see the value, hopefully you’ll be willing to donate additional books to your local little free library! That’s how it works! Keep in mind, the RCNA is not associated with the Little Free Library in any way. We just want to get the word out to the neighborhood about this fantastic idea. It is your neighbors who are taking the initiative and putting their hearts and souls into providing this service for all of us! The little free library is an international movement whose purpose is:
To promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations.
You can find more information about the Free Little Library program on their website as well as a map of free little libraries in Rattan Creek. A big thank you to our neighbors who are participating in this wonderful service! So get on out there and enjoy the Little Free Libraries scattered around the hood!
