Name Rattan Creek Neighborhood Association
Come out and join the RCNA on the morning of July 4th for our annual Independence Day neighborhood parade! Due to the overwhelmingly positive response we received with last year’s car parade, we’re doing that again!

Neighbors will once again have two options for participating

Decorate your cars in their patriotic finest and show us what you’ve got! We only ask that if you choose to drive in the parade, you put some effort into making your vehicle fun to see coming along the route.

Or if you prefer, line the route and cheer on the parade from the sidewalks near your home or at the park. If you view from a public area, please be mindful of social distancing so all neighbors are comfortable viewing the parade.

As always, the District 1 Constable team, Jollyville Fire and Wilco Sheriffs will be escorting us along the route!

We will also be featuring our very own Cub Scout Pack 159 and local Girl Scouts, in order to celebrate those scouts who ranked up this year but were unable to have a traditional ceremony.

Day of the event

Maps will be posted in the coming weeks indicating where participants will line up and the route we’ll be driving. They will be found on both the Rattan Creek Neighborhood Association website and Facebook page.

Cars should start lining up around 9:30 am, and the parade will begin promptly at 10am. When the parade begins, please allow our first responder vehicles to pull out, followed by our invited organized groups. The rest of the line (neighbors, local business vehicles, etc) will then be signaled to fold in behind them. The fire department has requested that all drivers pay attention and stay close together, not stopping at stop signs, to prevent confusion to others driving in the area.

The Route

Leaving Rattan Park, we will head down Tamayo towards Parmer, turn left on Osborne, turn left on Avella, turn left on Luling, turn right on Kiana, turn right on Amasia, turn left on Humphrey, turn right on Elkhorn, turn left on Pheasant Rock, turn left on Marimba, turn right on Grovedale, then turn right onto Tamayo.

We’ll then cross over the Tamayo bridge and turn left onto Dallas. We will head down Dallas towards Parmer, turn right on Amarillo, turn left on Corpus Christi, turn left on Kerrville, turn left onto Greybull where Kerrville ends, turn right on Dallas, turn right onto Tamayo then proceed back towards the park to conclude the parade.

After the parade, drivers should head back to their starting line up areas, if they would like to participate in the decorating contest and find out the results.
