Crawfish Boil

May 11, 2024

Schedule

Date:
Time:

Come out to the annual RCNA Crawfish Boil in Rattan Creek Park! We will have lots of crawfish, beer and lemonade, live music, and of course lots of fun! We have a phenomenal team of volunteers ready to cook us a Cajun-style meal. Please purchase your tickets online in advance so that we know how many bugs we need to buy. Walk-up tickets will be sold *only if* we have enough food to go around. This event is likely to sell out in advance!

🦞 TICKET PRICES 🦞

RCNA Member Individual Ticket: $30

Non-Member Individual Ticket: $35

Child (12 and under) with Paid Adult: FREE

Walk Up Individual Ticket (if available): $40

Food will be served family style. Tables will be set up without chairs so people can meander around and eat as they please from any table. Say hi to your neighbors and make some new friends! Feel free to bring folding chairs, any condiments or accessories you like, or pop-up tents or folding tables if you’d like to set up a little further away from other folks. If you choose to do this, please do not set up in front of the stage so that everyone can enjoy the band. This year we are lucky to have The Texas Players Band to entertain us!

If you don’t eat crawfish, no problem! We’ll have trays of sausage and veggies cooked separately from the mudbugs. If you do not wish to eat any of the food at the event, you’re welcome to bring your own picnic (but NO GLASS!). No ticket is required to come hang out. We welcome all of our neighbors to join us, kids too!

The Community Center bathrooms will be available during the event. Folks can park their vehicles in the Community Center parking lot, or on the street around Rattan Creek Park.

We are always in need of extra help with setup, transporting food from the cooks to the tables, picking up trash throughout the event, and the final clean up. If you’d like to volunteer, please email president@rattancreek.org or message the RCNA Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you soon!

A HUGE thank you to Donna Andruk of Andruk Realty Team for sponsoring the band! Also, thanks again to Brad Jones of Austin Jones Co. and David Malish of Murfee Engineering for sponsoring the kegs. We are lucky to have such generous neighbors! ♥️

🦐 RULES 🦐

  • No early birds. Crawfish will be served no earlier than 1pm.
  • You must have a wristband to eat. Be prepared to show ID for a beer wristband.
  • No carry out. The boil is all you can eat while you are at the event, not at home.
  • The cooks’ area is off limits. No crossing the caution tape.
  • All tables are community tables. Please make room for others.
  • Be kind. This is a fun event put on by generous volunteers.
  • ⚠️🚫 NO GLASS CONTAINERS! 🚫⚠️

There are absolutely no glass containers allowed whatsoever in the park or in the pool, ever. If you bring anything in a glass container, it will be confiscated and you may be asked to leave the event. This rule is enforced by the park management team, and RCNA supports them. The district graciously allows us to use the park facilities for our events, so let’s make sure we keep them nice and safe for all of our neighbors.

🦐 FAQs 🦐

What’s the refund policy?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds of any kind. This is a rain or shine event. We order the crawfish and other food in advance and it cannot be held or returned. In case of bad weather, we will do our best to still get the food out.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, our ticketing system will track your registration and we will have a list. Please check in at the RCNA table when you arrive. Be prepared to show ID if you would like a wristband for beer.

Can I bring my kids?

Sure! Kids 12 and under eat for free with a ticketed adult.

Do I have to buy a ticket if I just want to listen to the band?

No. Tickets are for food and drink.

Where should I park?

You may park in the Community Center parking lot or along the streets adjacent to the park.

What can I bring into the event?

Feel free to bring condiments you’d like with your crawfish. Folding chairs or tables and pop up tents are allowed, but please do not set up in front of the stage. Do not bring any glass bottles. We will provide non-alcoholic beverages, plus 2 donated kegs of beer for ticket holders to enjoy.

Can I bring glass containers?

No!

Who do I contact if I have questions?
